On March 18, 2025, Dunstan Vintner and Au Mariage co-hosted a memorable evening where Portugal met Italy over fine wines and thoughtfully prepared bites. With 31 guests filling the elegant space, the event offered a rare opportunity to savor the crisp freshness of Portugal’s Vinho Verde alongside the rich, velvety reds of Montepulciano.
We were especially honored by the presence of His Excellency, the Portuguese Ambassador, and his wife, whose gracious company added a touch of distinction. The evening unfolded in a relaxed yet refined setting, where guests enjoyed Portuguese seafood bites perfectly matched with an array of exceptional wines.
Two Wineries, One Exceptional Experience
The evening highlighted wines from Quinta da Raza of Portugal and Le Berne of Italy—two family-owned estates deeply rooted in tradition, yet driven by innovation.
Quinta da Raza – The Heart of Vinho Verde
Nestled in Portugal’s Vinho Verde region, Quinta da Raza is known for its sustainable practices and expressive wines. The estate’s commitment to eco-friendly viticulture, including natural pest control and biodiversity preservation, allows the terroir to shine through in every glass.

Le Berne – Tradition and Terroir in Montepulciano
Hailing from the rolling hills of Cervognano, Montepulciano, Le Berne is a family-run winery with a history dating back to the 1960s. Under the stewardship of Andrea Natalini, the estate blends modern winemaking techniques with time-honored traditions, crafting wines that authentically reflect Montepulciano’s terroir.

Nobile di Montepulciano 2020 – Smooth and refined, with velvety tannins.
